I just bought the 200W version of the machine you are using.

I can see the value in having this ability for a buisness that uses the laser for other things but might want to make a special run of shirts, banners or bags. Would save the hassle of having to source it out, especially for me since the nearest screen printer is over 50 miles away. I do t know that it would replace traditional screen printing but it could be handy.

Replace the words laser engraving with family portraits, transmission rebuilds, pet grooming, dog walking, etc.etc. This is all just excellent sound advice. Been there and done that and have nothing I can honestly add. Start small with the resources you can reach and the talent you have. There’s a sweet spot in small business where you look professional without having a storefront and employee overhead.

Just wondering if this works well with a diode laser? I have an xTool S1 40W, did some engraving at 50% power and 300mm/s. I got a nice engrave, you can feel the cavity with your fingers, but I seem to be just burning the paint off when I spread it in. I am using your sample pack of paint btw. I finally did a material test grid, 10-50% in 5% increments, from 100-300 mm/s in 50mm increments. I got engraving all the way from very light to very deep. I spread some paint over grid and then reran the test with the same settings, thinking I would find something that worked. Nope, just burned it all up expect for a few small flecks of paint here and there. Hence my question wondering if you were using a CO2 laser and maybe diode lasers don't work as well? Update: I answered my own issue. I did some more reading and decided I was completely off in my power/speed ranges. I did another test and restricted speed to 20-140 mm/s and power to 3-12%, and got much better results. It was interesting to see the noticeable difference the various combinations produced. There seems to be a sweet spot where the laser has enough time/power to melt the paint without burning it. You could also differences in the "shininess" of the result as well. No substitute for a test run with this technique! With my 40W S1 I think I will settle on 80 mm/s and 7% power.

I would disagree about your message to not use a centrifugal blower. However I would agree to not use one of the Cheap Chinese versions. you need a high quality one. They can provide the highest airflow and power for its size. and the motor is not involved with the air flow so it won't fail due to particles getting into it from the exhaust air. These are the same blowers we have in all our central heat an air systems, for all those reasons. and because it is so powerful you can use longer runs and place it outside.

Just found your channel. I have a Neje 7 watt laser (that's really like a 3 watt) and have been wanting to upgrade to a bigger one. Love all these items you showed, to this day I have only been doing cutting boards. Now I can expand. Do you have a video of lasers for people on a budget?

I don't really want a laser business. I bought a diode laser in the hopes that I will have a lot of fun. I'll make neat gifts for friends and family, and maybe be able to sell enough stuff to upgrade to a fiber laser. If I get a fiber laser then I'll get really serious about selling.

I'm in several diode laser facebook groups, and the biggest thing I see are people that want a laser businee, but they don't want to learn anything, or make any effort. They want designs free. They want someone to tell them how to do it. The idea of burning a test grid on a material is unthinkable to them. "Just tell me ythe settings!"....

Will the hats be machine washable with real leather? What about if using PU leather?

I started out doing more arts and crafts stuff with a Wecreat. Should I look at investing in a different laser engraver for other stuff, more engraving opportunities. My $$ comes right now from dungeons and dragons stuff

Do you always make sure to have a 1/8th inch gap regardless of what medium you're printing on, like bags, shirts, boxes, cards, etc.?
